Alex, if your question is abt the first 10m EME ever - it is not. There is a 1963 QST article "The Moonbounce Problem, 28 Mc. and Up" by H.T. Howard, W6UGL, which has a reference to a completed 10m EME QSO. I am sorry - I have only 2 pages of the article here on paper but can not find it on the internet now. The article describes the experiments for EME on 10m. One very interesting statement in this article: "The whole idea, though, is to demonstrate that the absolute minimum antennas for h.f. and lower v.h.f. moonbounce are ridiculously large for individual construction." The antenna described in the article had 27dB gain, was 1200 x 75 feet (abt 365 x 23m) in size. Power used was 1kW PEP in SSB. Some other very interesting statements are made in the article which in light of current EME accomplishments on especially 6 and 2 meters bring a smile to my face. It shows that constant technological progress will eventually make things happen which our elmers did not consider likely. I expect progress to continue and one day we ourselves will be surprised. Once again - congratulations to both of you! 73 Catharinus PE1AHX At 13:00 22-09-2005 +0400, Alex RU1AA wrote: >Hello EME'rs, >19 September at 0430 SM2CEW and RU1AA have completed EME QSO on 28Mhz. >We don't know is this QSO first on 28Mhz. >Alex > > >-- >Best regards, > Alex mailto:ru1aa@rlk.pu.ru > > >_______________________________________________ >Moon-Net posting and subscription instructions are at >http://www.nlsa.com/nets/moon-net-help.html --- Active VHF'ers meet on the ON4KST chat: http://www.on4kst.com/chat/start.php _______________________________________________ Moon-Net posting and subscription instructions are at http://www.nlsa.com/nets/moon-net-help.html
