--- Původní zpráva --- Datum: 2/15/2006 Od: "Hal ZS6WB" Předmět: 7Q7JE & 9J2JD Operation SOON I've just received an agenda from Hannes, ZS6JDE for his upcoming trip to Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia starting this coming weekend (18 Feb). Unfortunately he will be entering Mozambique enroute to Malawi on the weekend and will be unable to organize a C9 call on this trip, so the first operation is expected as 7Q7JE on March 1st from KH77. After a three day stop in 7Q he will move to Chingola, Zambia (KH37XJ) and operate for another three days as 9J2JD. On this trip Hannes will be operating 144 MHz only and will concentrate on WSJT JT65B EME operation as well as FSK441 meteor scatter operation. EME operation will be conducted during two three-day periods, the first in Malawi followed by a stopover in Zambia. There may be some additional FSK441 operation to activate grids but these will be during overnight stopovers and it is unlikely that these operations will be during good moon times. Because of limited time and space on the trip Hannes will again be using a small antenna system (M2 2M7) that will probably limit him to working stations with a minimum of a 4-Yagi array with moon elevations of 0-20.degrees at moonrise and moonset to take advantage of ground gain. He will be using a TE Systems 1452G amplifier giving him about 350 watts output. This is not a holiday, but a working trip and obviously EME operation cannot interfere with the primary purpose of the trip. For your planning purposes the possible EME operating windows are as follows: 7Q7JE KH77 01 March Moonrise 0500 - 0625 Set 1615 - 1715 02 March Moonrise 0600 - 0730 Set 1630 - 1800 03 March Moonrise 0700 - 0825 Set 0700 - 1845 9J2JD KH37XJ 06 March Moonrise 1020 - 1200 Set 2000 - 2140 07 March Moonrise 1110 - 1255 Set 2050 - 2230 08 March Moonrise 1210 - 1350 Set 2150 - 2325 Moonrise windows all favour most of Europe and Asia and moonset windows will be best for parts of Europe and the U.S. During his EME operation from Zambia last year conditions were not favourable for Russia and he will especially be watching for UA stations on this trip. This is the first of what will probably be at least three similar trips by Hannes during the year and improved antennas and possibly 432 MHz EME operation are in planning stages for future trips. I will have contact with Hannes during the trip and will keep everyone advised of any changes in his operating schedules. 73 - Hal ZS6WB
