DF9IC: I have set up my new antenna just the week before the contest weekend, and thus participated the first time from my new home QTH with a competitive station. On 1296 I am using an IC275E, a DD9DU transverter, a new Mitsubishi module (RA18H1213) as 30 W driver stage and a TH308 linear, resulting in 400 W output. The antenna is 4 x 35 Ele Tonna vertically stacked. My site is located between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. It is not exceptionally high (355 m a.s.l. - close to the Northern Black Forest with mountains up to 1150 m a.s.l.) but completely open to F, G, PA0, North DL, Scandinavia and OK. I started late at 16:45 UTC because I had to finish the last parts of the antenna and rotator control still on Saturday. I worked only 1296 single operator with 8 h of no activity during the night, calling CQ and using internet (ON4KST chat and cluster) extensively for skeds. This strategy seems to be better than to make skeds from 432 MHz.
