"Use it or loose it" is indeed a statement.

Using it is not enough, also SHOW that you use it! In several national HAM magazines VHF&up is not really 
in the picture. About broadband signals like (D)ATV and digital signals that really needs these bandwidths 
in most magazines even nothing, with a few very positive exceptions. If these activities are not present in 
their country, it is imaginable. I know about a lot of ATV developments and usage in some countries and 
seeing nothing about this in their magazines is a lost opportunity. 
Like Jacques wrote, for weak signal modes only a few KHz are needed (especially now everyone switched over 
to FT8) and this will be used against us. If you do not want to loose also these few KHz, you should ensure 
more publications and focus on the diversity (including the wide band signals).
