Period : 2014-07-10 to 2014-07-17 Call : LI4LN Square(s): JO29 DXCC(s) : LA Band(s) : 50 MHz 70 MHz Prop.(s) : Planning to be QRV in NRAU Nordic Activity Contests (NAC) 6 m on Thursday 10 July (17 - 21 UTC), and 4 m on Thursday 17 July (17 - 21 UTC), both contests from the fairly rare QTH locator square JO29 with 5 element Yagi antennas and 100 W output power (using a new Icom IC-7100 + small PA + RX preamp), all modes (CW, SSB, FM, digital WSJT), on both 6 m and 4 m. The locators will be either JO29QS (sorry for the confusion about my correct locator) or JO29RU, depending on the weather: The JO29RU locator is at a 750 m asl mountain top, where a 4X4 vehicle is necessary for access, weather permitting (e.g.; not going to this highest point in this district if the weather forecast says thunder storm and heavy rain), and limited access on a closed "road"; i.e. mountain track. If no ES or aurora or tropo, check 6 m MS (JT6M mode, 1st period) near 50230 kHz (+/-). Please note: On 4 m in this county NO operation is permitted between 70.1875 and 70.2625 kHz, because of commercial services there. This means that my operation will be 70.150 - 70.180 MHz (most likely 70170 - 70.180) and 70.270 - 70.300 (most likely 70.290 - 70.300), depending on QRM and QRN. MS mode on 4 m will be FSK441, 1st period. I can operate split frequency, and will check 70.000 - 70.030 MHz (or elsewhere, if notified) on RX if the 4 m band is open to Germany. I hope to be in and out on the ON4KST chat, depending on the mobile phone coverage (and my money for such service ... this is a field operation). Contacts will preferably be random on first come first serve basis, hence skeds will have low priority in these two contests. The special call sign LI4LN will be used (in commemoration of the bicentennial of the Norwegian Constitution during 2014). Contacts will count for the special "Norway 1814" award: http://www.dxawards.com/inet2014.htm#NORGE QSL to LI4LN via LA4LN, bureau or direct (preferably; with SAE + 1 IRC). CU from JO29 on 6 m and 4 m! 73 from Tom, LI4LN Tom, LA4LN, http://www.qrz.com/db/li4ln Source: http://www.rudius.net/dxp/index.php
