[Moon-net] ARRL Contest Od: Joe Taylor [+ do adresáře] Předmět: [Moon-net] ARRL Contest Datum: Mon, 14 Nov 2005 14:46:55 -0500 Komu: Moon-Net [+] Velikost: 5 KB Zdroj | Zobrazit hlavičku | Tisk Many thanks to all for a second enjoyable EME weekend! Activity levels were excellent, so even though total my on-air time was limited to 11 hours spread over both weekends, and my station is in some disarray, my totals were far better than I have done in any previous EME event. Actually, I had a great time right up to 2345 UTC on Sunday. That was when my 3CX800 flashed over, taking some other components with it. The shack still smells bad, and I will necessarily be off the air for a little while. :-( I finished with 38 QSOs and 27 multipliers, all on 2 meters, JT65B, single-operator assisted. A list of stations worked is appended below. On another matter: a few have suggested that absence of a written response to the SM2CEW's recent criticism of JT65 might imply that Peter's critique is valid. I am sure that most people have much better things to do -- but if you have time on your hands, a measured response has now been posted at http://pulsar.princeton.edu/~joe/K1JT/Reply_to_SM2CEW.htm. With best wishes, -- 73, Joe, K1JT I have about 700 W in the shack and two available antennas. One is my 4 x 9 el tropo system, good for EME only below 10 degrees elevation. It has a good tower-top preamp, but birdies and power-line noise galore. The other antenna is a pair of 2MXP20's on my roof, with elevation control. With no preamp, I am embarrassingly "deaf" when using this antenna. My apologies if you called and I did not respond. I hope to be better equipped next time around.
