Very sorry to hear the sad news that Kjell has passed away.He was the first SM station I worked on 2m tropo and one of the first on EME. My thoughts are with his family. Roy g3zig. It is really sad news again, to hear that one of the EME oldtimers passed away. You will stay in our memories, Kjell ! 73, Ivo, ZS6AXT I am very sad to hear the news of SM7BAE passing away. Kjell was one of the first European station on 2m, I remember my first QSO with him for his vy slow keying. I had QSO with him also as C30LAO on 1983. My condolences to his family Rest in Peace I5WBE Enrico I was so sorry to hear of the passing of SM7BAE. We had completed on144 EME CW back in my early days in Turkey when I was running just 400watts, a single yagi, and a very noisy preamp in the shack. SM7BAE, KC3RE/TA3, 88/05/25 I can't remember if Kjell was the first SM-TA 144 QSO or one of thefirst, but I remember fondly his adventurous spirit in trying (andsucceeding,) with a little station like mine. I know that this spiritwill live on. 73, Martin, KC3RE Very sad news from you guys. Kjell has been one of my first contacts on 2m eme. He was very active during the 90 years. My deep condulences to his family. Francesco,IK2DDR Dear OM, Today I saw a cluster spot from Stan, SF7WT, who told us that SM7BAE to be s.k. I am very sad to hear about this very bad news. Kjell (SM7BAE) was one of my very first EME contacts in the mid 80s. He was a regular QSO-partner when I was out on expeditions myself and I always competed with him from my home during pile-ups. Of course, he beat me every time... My condulences are going to his family, I will miss the typical sound bouncing via the moon: ... -- --... -... .- . vy 73 DL5MAE Wolfgang I'm sorry to hear another sad news after Josep , EA3DXU and Olda, OK2TU. RIP Kjell Matej, OK1TEH Dear OM, Dave W5UN has already announced this sad fact on moon-net. This is very big loss for our community.
