How to make tropo QSO over Atlantic ?

As everybody knows, no true tropo QSO on 2 m has made across Atlantic yet, although many of them tried it within tens of years. Distance, which should be overcomed is not small - at least over 3000 km. It is a lot, but across the see already lot of QSOs were made - for example between Havaii and California from 60-ies plenty DX QSO has made at distance over 4000 km, even on the higher bands up to 6 cms ! As well as in Europe, where already distance over 3200 km has reached , for example between UK and EA8 and just in last days between EA and D4. Why it does not works to the other side of "big puddle" ?

I think, that it could be possible, only up to now systematic will has missed. However From the perspective of VHF ham radio density the northern way between New Foudland and Ireland looks best, perfect tropo condx are not so usual here. Regardless it is place of almost all tests (see here) as well as place of proposed instalation of transatlantic VHF beacons (more here).

Inseparable part of prospective success must be proper tropo situation. For tropo condx forecast could be used very well William Hepburn tropo pages. As you can check here, this forecast really works well. And after that is necessary just wait and wait with very sofisticated hardware arrangement untill the day D will come. This opportunity certainly already happen, but nobody was prepared (see here).

At the same time one idea is on the mind - whitherward it could go best across the ocean on 2m ? My guess is, that in relation to the D44TD activity the right way for overcoming of Atlantic could be, not tested yet, equatorial route between Cape Werde islands and Antilles archipelago (for example Martinique, Virgin Islands, or Montserrat). And, maybe, as well between D4 and French Guyana, where are a lot of very well educated and experienced scientists, who could interested to VHF amateur radio. Tropo condx looks very well quite often...
